🩷Heartfelt Update on Etta’s Journey and the Power of Organ Donation🩷
What an incredible journey it’s been for our brave Etta! Many of you know Etta was born with an incredibly rare genetic condition, TTC21B, so rare it doesn’t even have a common name – has shown us what true resilience looks like every single day. We’re thrilled to share that Etta recently underwent a successful liver transplant in Birmingham thanks to the selfless gift of a deceased donor! She’s been recovering remarkably well, and we’re so incredibly proud of her strength and resilience.
However, Etta’s journey isn’t over yet. She will soon need a kidney transplant and Etta and her mum Dionne are preparing to begin the work-up for that. In the meantime, our little fighter continues to receive regular dialysis treatment at Belfast Children’s Hospital.
The Cartmill’s know more than anyone the profound impact of organ donation. It doesn’t just save lives – it gives families hope, memories, and a future. Please consider becoming an organ donor and giving the gift of life. #OrganDonation #GiftOfLife #EttasJourney #TTC21B #RareDisease #KidneyTransplant #LiverTransplant #BelfastChildrensHospital #BirminghamChildrensHospital
